Tranquil at the Top

The original family home was undergoing a significant extension and renovation aimed at modernising the space while increasing overall functionality. As part of this transformation, the kitchen footprint was expanded to include a walk-in pantry, creating new opportunities for both layout and storage. While the clients initially favoured retaining a familiar U-shaped design, through discussion they became open to exploring an L-shaped layout with an island, a solution that ultimately proved to work more harmoniously within the enlarged space.

Positioned atop a hill in a rural setting, the home enjoys sweeping 360-degree views of the surrounding countryside and ocean. It was essential that the kitchen design responded to this unique setting while aligning seamlessly with the broader architectural renovation. The clients were drawn to a classic, timeless aesthetic, something enduring that would feel relevant and beautiful for many years, without competing with the natural landscape beyond.
