My bereaved client came into the showroom looking for a kitchen company that could work with her on a house renovation. She wished to use the renovation to help her through her grieving process. The project was the family home, a 1930’s villa which they had resided in for many years in Claudelands. It was important for my client to repurpose the Rimu kitchen as it held many memories.
The client is a passionate cottage gardener and enjoys bringing in the fruits of her labour and using them in her kitchen, whether preserving or cooking fresh from the garden.
The existing kitchen was a galley with an added dresser in Rimu too. The space was very small and it was also a thoroughfare to the bathroom & laundry.
The dining room was adjacent to the kitchen and was small with a fireplace that dominated the room. Opposite was the back door and a small deck with stairs down to the garden.
