Modern Mid-Century

Selling the large family home in the city, moving and downsizing to the remote family Bach to renovate and call Home was exciting yet challenging.

Considered spatial planning was important to deliver on functionality and flexibility necessary for this work-at-home, social, foodie duo.

New windows, doors, and a log burner were already in-situ.  Merging the previous kitchen and laundry provided enough real estate to create a multi-purpose space to include a washing machine, a concept familiar to this British couple.

Dedicated and accessible storage for the cake mixer, Pasta Maker, and Coffee Machine along with other small gadgets was vital.

Water views were well considered when planning – timber floors made repositioning of services easy.

The love of Mid-Centry was introduced by framing individual cabinets.  The Dining booth incorporated behind the Island is a hub for eating, socialising, and working.  A perfect space-saver fulfilling the must-have dining area and a nod to the modern Mid-Century.
