Kitchen D'or

The client’s vision centred on subtle yet powerful elegance, with a strong emphasis on easy maintenance for a busy family home. The kitchen was to act as a connecting space between the lounge and dining areas—almost like a gallery—creating a seamless and visually engaging thoroughfare.

The existing layout disrupted the flow of open-plan living, separating the lounge and dining spaces. A key objective was to restore this connection while also incorporating seating within the kitchen, allowing the family to interact easily during cooking, cleaning, and both everyday living and entertaining.

Due to the home’s unconventional layout—with two separate walkways into the dining area and an elongated, underperforming TV room—the clients saw an opportunity to reconfigure the space. By utilising the secondary thoroughfare and part of the TV room, additional area was created for the kitchen, including the introduction of a functional scullery and an improved layout for the living zone.

The result is a kitchen that goes beyond functionality, becoming a welcoming and engaging space where the family can gather, relax, and connect.
