The home’s keen cook and baker felt increasingly frustrated by the lack of storage, limited bench space, and the overall lack of “pizzazz” in the existing dated G-shaped kitchen. A significant upgrade in both functionality and visual appeal was essential.

The original layout, with a single entry and exit point, created a confined workspace and frequent workflow conflicts. There was also a clear disconnect between the kitchen, outdoor area, and adjoining dining spaces, something that needed to be addressed to improve flow and connection when hosting.

As an avid collector of glass crockery and a user of large-scale catering equipment, accessible and practical storage solutions were a top priority. The household’s coffee enthusiast was particularly excited by the addition of a HydroTap, which also created the opportunity for a secondary sink and additional prep space.

The owner had a strong preference for a moody colour palette, so careful guidance was provided to ensure material selections were both practical and complementary to this vision.
