Solutions

• To accentuate the high ceiling and to gain additional storage the cabinetry was taken up to 2.9 meters.
• Black kitchens are dramatic and uber-chic, a black kitchen oozes sophistication which is exactly why this colour was chosen.
• A mirror was chosen for the splashback material to make it feel more open and it also meant you could still see the pool.
• The cooktop bench Dekton domoos was not only chosen for its aesthetic but its durability for the hot working area of the kitchen.
• The sink is asymmetrical to the island to leave a large serving area to the dining room.
• Silestone Ethereal Glow stone was chosen for the bench surface on the island as the warm tone veins in this material tied the colour pallet together and was a striking contrast to the black matte cabinets.
• Symmetry was a key element requirement from the clients.
• The fridge and freezer were fully integrated to match the 1200mm wide pantry.
• These were placed at opposite ends of the kitchen to frame the hob bench.
• The kitchen island block ends were designed to frame the seating area which also complimented the back wall framing detail.
• Different cabinetry depths for the wall units were used so the back wall didn’t seem flat or heavy.
• Cambridge oak raw in the prague profile was used for the wall cabinetry to add warmth and texture to this space.
• The warm LED strip lighting recessed under the wall units was important to add light to counter the black cabinetry.
