These clients are a structural engineer and her husband who live on a rural property that they extended and then starting renovating the existing house.
They are hunter gatherers who love Pig hunting, fishing and entertaining their friends with the catch of the day and regaling stories of their many adventures.
The existing kitchen was a U shape that was awkward for them to use and it showed signs of wear. The kitchen had been added to the original house with a beam and an angled sarked ceiling.
The cook wanted two full ovens but could not see how it could fit into the existing space.
There was the space to extend the kitchen to include a social space and allow more than one person to work in it. However, the clients struggled to see how it could work.
There was a macrocarpa benchtop that has been milled from the property. The clients were keen to reuse it in the kitchen renovation.
