Cottage in the Hills

This kitchen was reimagined to better reflect the home’s coastal, nature-filled surroundings and the client’s lifestyle. The brief focused on bringing the outdoors in, with green cabinetry and a wood-look benchtop creating a warm, organic feel that connects seamlessly with the environment. Opening up the layout allowed the kitchen to flow into the wider living space, making it ideal for entertaining.

Designed for both connection and efficiency, the cooktop was positioned on the island so the clients can easily interact with guests while cooking. The space is organised into practical zones, with food storage on the fridge wall, cooking centred on the island, and prep and cleaning on the sink wall. Generous bench space throughout ensures the kitchen works effortlessly for daily use.

To maintain a sense of openness, all tall and wall cabinetry was consolidated onto one side, preventing the room from feeling heavy despite the deeper colour palette. The result is a light, balanced space that feels welcoming and functional. Overall, the design delivers a perfect blend of style and practicality, tailored for modern living and effortless entertaining.
