After making the move from Australia, the clients set their sights on transforming their newly purchased French Country-style home and envisioned a kitchen that complemented the home’s aesthetic while remaining highly functional.

The original blue and yellow scheme felt tired and out of place, but with underfloor heating in place, the layout had to stay. That meant working smart within the existing footprint.

Key appliances like the fridge and freestanding oven stayed put, and a built-in rangehood was a must. The new design cleverly integrated a dedicated coffee station, concealed storage for small appliances, and quick-grab access to everyday cooking essentials like spices and oils.

To elevate the charm, a petite butler’s block was introduced as a standout furniture-style piece, echoing the French Country vibe. Sleek 20mm benchtops were paired with a warm timber butcher’s block for contrast. The sink remained in its original spot, preserving a smooth workflow between prep and cooking zones.

Original knobs were repurposed and paired with classic cup handles for a cohesive, character-rich finish. A carefully chosen tiled splashback tied the whole look together, uniting the kitchen and island in timeless French elegance.
