A brief of dark moody tones and timber accents served as the starting point for this kitchen – with a willingness from the clients to be open minded about what would work best in the space. This was to be a dramatic change – the original dated kitchen was literally falling apart! Structural changes to open up the space to the pool area and close off an unused doorway completely altered the layout and enhanced the flow in the new design. The only tricky structural element – a small section of bracing wall.
Dekton Laurent was the natural choice for the focal point. The stunning veins of gold running through the island bench top with waterfall end and the splash back became the basis for the rest of the finishes. Dekton Sirius on the back bench hob area and a combination of Hickory Walnut and Black cabinetry brought out the warmth in the timber flooring and toned seamlessly with the dramatic dark brown and gold Laurent. Black handles, sink and tap complete an incredibly stylish, yet warm and inviting kitchen; and that bracing wall – cleverly incorporated into the tall cabinetry and disguised as part of the corner pantry.
