Client Brief
This was an opportunity to be avant-garde, fully realising the client’s artistic nature and going on a shopping spree for interesting colours and textures.
The client wanted modern and edgy with a touch of drama to embellish the homes considerable views and elegant proportions. The old U-Shape Kitchen layout was dated, and the new Kitchen could easily be extended to enhance an already beautiful expanse.
Requirements
A large centre piece Island using a breath-taking Granite that would complement the warm Ivory walls and wooden floors.
A place to entertain and enjoy the stunning views.
To blend seamlessly with the client’s contemporary furniture and own Artwork which is predominantly embellished in gold.
Easy Clean surfaces that will survive the test of time.
The Design
A visit to several Granite suppliers was arranged and as large slabs were lifted from racks we finally found “Tropical Fusion”, with its alluring mix of natural colours complimenting the warm tones of the existing décor, elevating them to a new level.
To further embellish the colour palette the Brushed Brass was chosen to fuse effortlessly with the client’s artwork adding reflective surfaces for enhancing lighting effects.
Contrasting thicknesses both vertically and horizontally from a 100mm glossy thick island and Waterfall to a 12mm Riverwash back bench adds interest and distinction between the work areas.
Conclusion
We have realised the client’s vision for a minimal but theatrical Kitchen, which will not only give pleasure to the owners but the many guests who come to visit.
