Brief ‘Dancing With Detail’

Clients wanted a modern, all black kitchen with a touch of warmth and attention to hidden detail. They love to entertain so a space that suited social settings was important.

Challenges: Recessed closet area Limited floor space available for the kitchen High ceilings, past our 2400 panels. Wanted separate coffee and wine bar.

Design Solutions: Utilised the recessed closet and turned it into a bar area for wine and coffee. The Galley style kitchen allows full access to all their storage. To maximum prep space the sink is positioned to the right of the island giving them ample space on the left. It also allowed for better access into the drawers when unloading the dishwasher. Added a bulkhead to keep the joinery at 2400 allowing them to duct through the bulkhead instead of the cabinets and maximising storage. Blum servo drive on wall cabinets for an easy use system.

Special Features: The Dekton benchtop is lifted slightly off the base of the island allowing for a negative detail that gives a floating effect. The island is complimented by two bold, thick stone legs on either side at 150mm wide giving a commanding presence. 600mm wide Oil and Spice rack to right of oven. LED light under wall cabinets. Apollo handle under bench to complement the minimal look. Acrylic, anti-fingerprint surface for their drawers, door fronts and panels. The Legrabox drawers at a meter wide give easy access to food with a professional style.
