Client Brief

Black and white never goes out of style and this was what my client wanted - a kitchen that was sleek and modern but would not lose its appeal in years to come.
The space for this kitchen was only small and kept the footprint of the previous kitchen. Benchtop space and decent storage were big parts of the brief as well as creating a kitchen that looked aesthetically stunning. Introducing draws and cupboards for large items has been excellent for storage. A benchtop pantry was decided so the space did not look too boxed in. A sleek 30mm stone benchtop brings a modern edge.
The clients didn’t want the ovens and fridge to be the first thing you see when enter the kitchen. These are tucked around the corner out of sight initially from visitors, but still within small distance to the sink and induction HOB.

The thought of a pressed tin splashback was bought up early in the design process and after checking that it would be durable enough for this area, it was a certainty in the design. I really wanted to almost frame the pressed tin with the cabinets around it and make it the star of the show.
The gloss white upper cabinets with longer fronts for opening were the perfect partner to the matt black lower and tall units, the gloss gives some shine and brightness and really brings life to the pressed tin.
