Alexa, how impossibly cool is this kitchen

Estevan De Castro & Tony Elvey, Auckland

Tony and Estevan live in an oasis of calm and style in Avondale. It's the sort of house that wherever you point a camera it's Instagram ready. The furnishings, artwork, and lighting are impeccable. The focal point however has to be their amazing kitchen.

As someone who trained as a chef, Tony had exacting requirements and knew precisely what he needed to make this his dream kitchen. This project was the perfect collaboration between Tony, his partner Estevan and designer Kurt from Kitchen Studio, the attention to detail and creative touches are truly stunning.

As we stood admiring their kitchen, Tony suddenly gazed into the distance and said to no one in the room, "Alexa, island lights blue". A moment later the island in the kitchen (with the biggest granite bench top I've ever seen), was bathed in an electric blue light.

Estevan then explained that the lights were voice controlled, then demonstrated the stunning colour range available and how this set the mood for work, food prep or party time in their satin black kitchen.

When asked why they chose Kitchen Studio for this demanding project, Estevan said, "Kurt and Amanda from Kitchen Studio treated us as friends, rather than customers. Over a glass of wine they discussed our needs and at no point tried to pressure us or sell us a kitchen". He added, "They got us as people and understood what we wanted". Tony then added. "It was the best experience we could have hoped to achieve".
