Frequently Asked Questions

1) What will a new kitchen cost me?

This is undoubtedly the number one question that everyone undertaking a new kitchen project wants answered. The truth is that the level of investment in your new kitchen will be determined by a number of variables including;
a. Size of the room
b. Materials selected
c. Number of drawer units versus cabinets
d. How much you wish to accessorise the kitchen
e. Whether appliances are being replaced

You’ll need to have a rough budget in mind and have thought a bit about how the new kitchen fits your lifestyle needs. As a general guide, we suggest that you should look to invest about 5-8% of the value of your home.

Use this budget calculator to work out your own budget guide:

Enter an estimate of your home’s market value (without commas or dashes) and click on the "calculate" button. See existing Kitchen Studio website for details of how this calculator works.

2) How long will the installation of my new kitchen take?

The majority of installations will be completed within 2 days but again will depend on the complexity of the job. We understand that not having a working kitchen is a huge inconvenience to any household and will do our best to minimise the disruption.

3) Will it take longer to have a granite benchtop installed?

Yes. Custom fitted kitchens need to be scribed to follow the contours of the wall. For laminated benchtops this can be done on site. For solid stone benchtops this generally requires specialised machinery so is done off site. Kitchen Studio may provide a temporary bench top at your request for you to use until your solid benchtop has been returned.

4) What are your payment terms?

Once you have designed your kitchen and you have signed a contract we ask for a 50% deposit.  Your deposit is protected by Kitchen Studio's Total Trust Deposit Guarantee - a service that only Kitchen Studio offers.  The balance of payment is then due prior to installation?

Note: See the attached letter to Consumer Institute Chief Executive, Sue Chetwin published in the Sunday Star Times on 7 February 2010 regarding the payment of deposits for customised products - Click here.
